Snuck out to plants some herbs and veggies this aft...I fear if I wait until after the 15th everything will be in too late.

Planted with other herbs-basil globe
In pot with perwinkle: purple ruffle basil

Transplanted tomatoes to tire garden. Also planted in there scarlet runner beans.
In other tire planted cucumber. With onions squash.

In containers-creeping thyme and society garlic.
In pot by pond scarlet climber vine (and a couple of seeds down by the pond corner for good measure)

Tarragon with butterfly bush.

Tropical lily shows signs of life and another pot -I think it may be pickerel...

I think that's it for the planting today.

Yucca came up in pot this week-it's about 1 1/2" high-just one plant.

Didn't do any gardening...fishie stuff

Saturday-brought home 6 of Patricks angels (3 pinoy dime sized, 1 veil tail, 1 smokey something blusher perhaps? and a plumbago (or something like that).

I also picked up 2 nice sized clownfish for the 90.

Today I picked up a pair of seahorses. Clownfish and seahorses are in the qt together...hopefully they'll all behave.

Another spring gardening day...

Since a leaf has already made it to the surface I decided now would be a good time to bring up all the pond plants and clean out the gunk on the bottom. I should learn to mark the pots - I can't tell what's what now. We'll see in a couple of weeks what has survived. The hardy water lily is what is growing already. The other plant that is springing to life is I believe the bog lily. It will be interesting to see what comes to life in the next couple of weeks.

I started my malabar spinach inside today -the cats have decided to use the raised bed where I planted the regular spinich as a toilet so I don't know if it will grow.

Wintersowing: I see a tomato sprout...better late than never! I may have a tokyo onion growing (or it could be grass lol).

Now I'm going to start my red yucca seed in a pot inside.

Winter Blues...

Is there a better way to beat winter blues than doing some spring gardening? With that thought in mind, today I started soaking my Japanese Maples. They will need to be soaked for 2 days and then stratified in the fridge for a couple of months..Hmmm I think I should have started them earlier...oh well..

Varieties: Bloodgood and Fireglow
